Arkive Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 17, 2026

Arkive is operated by VRKIVE LLC, a company registered in New Jersey, United States. Contact us at support@arkive.tech with privacy questions or requests.

Using Arkive

Arkive lets you browse curated visual content without creating an account. The app does not include advertising or third-party behavioral analytics, and does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or location.

Information stored on your device

Arkive stores your appearance preferences, onboarding status, browsing position, and a record of posts you have seen, including when you first saw them. This information supports your browsing session and archive. The app does not upload these records to Arkive's backend.

Images may be cached on your device to improve loading performance. Local preferences and history remain until the app's data is removed. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data. Device backups may retain or restore app data according to your Apple settings; Arkive does not operate an account-based backup or synchronization service.

Delivering content

Arkive connects to Supabase, the service that hosts our content, images, and curator avatars, to retrieve what you see in the app. These requests necessarily transmit your IP address and technical request information to that service.

Our Supabase project is hosted in the United States (AWS US West). Technical request logs include request timestamps, requested content paths, response status, and app/network software information, and Supabase's infrastructure can also process and log IP addresses. We use these logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Our plan provides seven days of request log history through the Supabase dashboard; we do not export these logs elsewhere. Supabase, as our infrastructure provider, may retain copies for its own operational and security purposes under its own privacy policy.

Saving images to Photos

If you choose to save an image, Arkive requests permission to add it to your photo library. Arkive uses add-only access; it does not read or upload your existing photos. You can change this permission in iOS Settings. Images you save to Photos remain there until you delete them separately, and may sync through your own iCloud Photos settings.

Contacting support

If you email support@arkive.tech, we receive your email address and the information and attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your request and address the reported issue. Support correspondence is handled through Google Workspace.

We delete routine support correspondence within 12 months after resolution unless continued retention is necessary for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation.

External websites

If you open a curator's website, that website's privacy practices apply. Review its policy before sharing personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can stop network requests by closing the app and remove local app data by deleting the app. We cannot retrieve browsing history that exists only on your device.

Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and certain U.S. states, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because Arkive has no accounts, the personal information we hold is generally limited to support correspondence and short-lived technical logs. Where we process this information, we do so to provide the service you requested and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing it. To exercise any right, email support@arkive.tech; if you contact us from a different address than the one your request concerns, we may ask you to verify it. Content requests are served from infrastructure in the United States, so using Arkive from outside the U.S. involves transferring the technical request information described above to the U.S.

Policy changes

We will update this policy when our practices change and update the effective date above.
